Friday, March 2

Professional Headshot Photos

Parkway Central Library


Whether you already have a job or are in the process of applying, this is the perfect opportunity to get a new headshot for your resume or LinkedIn profile. This event will take place from 11 am to 1 pm. The background for the picture will be gray, so plan accordingly. It is suggested that you bring an extra shirt so you can have some variety. Within 7 to 10 business days, you will receive an email with your brand new headshots.


Silent Disco

Broad Street Bullies Pub


Grab some headphones, choose a station, and get ready to dance. You never know what kinds of music you will hear or what other people are listening to. Even better, each set of headphones light up. This event takes place from 9 pm to 1 am.

Retro Friday

South Street Cinema


The featured film to kick of B&W movie month at the South Street Cinema is The Artist. This Oscar-winning production will take you back to Hollywood in 1927 as you follow the journey and romance of two movie stars. The screening starts at 8 pm.


The Most Lit Sketch Show in the Planet

Good Good Comedy Theatre


The cast of American Express Comedy presents an encore show of “The Most Lit Sketch Show in the Planet.” Be sure to get your tickets early, because their first two shows were completely sold out. The laughter starts at 7 pm.

VHS Swap & Video Party

Tattooed Mom


Do you still have a VHS player? If you are a fan of VHS tapes, head to the Tattooed Mom to watch videos and chat about your favorite movies. Don’t forget to bring your collection of VHS tapes to swap with other VHS lovers. The party starts at 2 pm.


Back to the ’90s featuring DJ PiERSON


Free before midnight

Travel back in time with some of the most popular music from the ’90s. If you RSVP to the event, you’ll get free entrance before 12 am. General admission is free, but $20 can cover your admission plus a complimentary beverage package from 11 pm to 12:30 am.


Kick the Keg Party

Blue Cross RiverRink


To celebrate its final weekend of the season, Blue Cross RiverRink is hosting an event with $5 beer. If you manage to finish a keg, you will receive a prize Summer prize package. The beer will start flowing at 11 am.

Start your morning off with learning techniques and strategies to protect yourself in times of distress. The instructor is Ron Dukes, Co-Founder of Red Condition Fitness and a trainer for over 20 years. The class starts at 10 am.

JJ’s Diner PHL

Don’t be fooled by the name, this isn’t at a real diner. This event venue will host performances by four different musical groups from both Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. The show starts at 7 pm.


Oscar Night

Rowhouse Productions


If you don’t want to watch the Oscars from your couch, then this is the perfect event. There will be a variety of activities, including Oscar bingo and trivia. There will also be a contest where participants can fill out a ballot with their predictions of the awards. There will be a $2 cash pool for the predictions. The doors open at 7 pm, and the awards start at 8 pm. Don’t forget to bring your own drink to enjoy throughout the night.
