The Slam

Good Good Comedy Theatre

Put a poet and 6 comedians in a room. What do you get? To put it simply: THE SLAM. Come be the judges of these entertainers to see if their feelings are as vulnerable as the typical person. The guest poet is Angelo Colavita, who lives and writes in Philadelphia as a founding editor of Empty Set Press.


Eat Your Beats

Good Good Comedy Theatre

This show is a triple threat. With a comedy show, rap battle and food fight, this event is bound to put a spin on your Friday night. The guest judge is NIIC the Singing Dog. The event begins at 10 pm.


Coffee Cupping

United By Blue

At this event, you will taste a variety of coffees while evaluating every part of the process with their cafe managers. This includes the aroma, flavor, aftertaste, and more. Learn the ins and outs of your cup of joe. After the event, participants will receive additional discounts on retailed bags of coffee. This event begins at 2 pm.


’80s Party benefiting the Pennsylvania SPCA

The Tusk

An ’80s party to benefit the Pennsylvania SPCA and their mission. DJ Kyle Andrews will spin your favorite throwbacks followed by a live performance from Johnny Moskal. Show up wearing your favorite ’80s gear for the chance of being named the King or Queen. This event begins at 8 pm.


Saturday, 4.14

A Midsummer Night’s Dream & Breaking Ground

Venice Island Performing Arts Recreation Center

Philadelphia Dance Theatre will perform this classic Shakespeare play while spinning in four contemporary dance styles. This show is from 1 to 5 pm.


Puppy Prom

Pet Friendly Dog Bakery

Dogs and prom, what else could you ask for? Dress your pooch in its best outfits. A photographer will be present to snap pics of your pup with a prom backdrop. Hopefully you win the best dressed contest because special prizes will be awarded at the end. Prom is from 3 to 5 pm.


Ballroom/Latin Dance Workshop

Merge Dance Studio

Guest teacher Jesse Smith-Dow will teach this ballroom and latin dance workshop. You do not need a partner or previous experience to come and let loose. This workshop is from 3:30 to 5 pm.


Yappie Hour

City Tap University City

You and your pup can enjoy brews in support of animal welfare while meeting a bunch of great dog owners like yourself. If you donate to the PSPCA you will receive a wristband for $5 Victory specials. There will also be raffles, a food buffet, and free doggie treats for your furry friend.


Improv Comedy: Hooch + Dutch

Philly Improve Theatre

Philly Improve Theatre will provide a mix of hilarious storytelling and chaos with an interactive performance. The Hooch team will include Kelly Conrad, Shannon Fahey, Stacie Lyons, Sheila Master, Emma Needleman and more. Whereas the Dutch team will be lining up with Gabriella Bottoni, Robyn Cartlidge, Katie Cwirko, Tom Hannigan, Marcely Jean-Pierre and more.


Bikes, Beans & Beers

Palmer Park

This fun and casual event will mix together biking, coffee tasting, and beers. This social event will begin at Palmer Park in Fishtown and head north along the Riverfront. Throughout the leisure bike ride, there will be pauses to taste test coffee from local providers, ending with a lunch and drinks at a local pub.

StrEAT Food Festival



What a better way to spend your Sunday than grubbing on amazing food? Main Street will boast the best of the best foods that Philly has to offer for this annual festival. From BBQ to desserts, from crafts to produce, come check out these food trucks and merchants.

2018 Guest Workshops

Sound Space Performing Arts

Join Deborah Mitchell and Karen Callaway Williams as they teach a master tap dance instruction class. Both classes will be an hour and a half. Deborah’s class will be from 12:30 to 2 pm and Karen’s will be from 2 to 3:30 pm.


Improv Comedy By True Life

Pay what you can

This improv session is titled “Long Story Short” and will focus on the truth, laughs, and more laughs. These improvisers will intertwine comedy into true stories inspired by the audience. This event begins at 7 pm and features Rob Alesiani, Darryl Charles, Sarah Clemency, Keane Cobb, Sue Nelson, Max Sittenfield, Hunter Steffes, and Randie Welles.


Cherry Blossom Festival

Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia


Spring time means that the cherry blossom trees are now blooming. Enjoy food, drink, and entertainment all while experiencing traditions of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia. Also, check out their Sakura Sunday show to experience Japanese culture without having to leave Philadelphia. This event is from 10 am to 5 pm.


Women of the Penn Museum Guided Tour

Penn Museum

This special guided tour is organized by The Bryn Mawr Club to showcase the women in the Penn Museum. From queens to warriors to archaeologists, this tour will explore the stories of all types of women and uncover the different ways that society shapes the ideas of gender. This tour begins at 2 pm.
