May The 4th Be With You

May the Fourth be with you. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Come out and celebrate the most legendary series in history. This Star Wars event will serve Star Wars themed cocktails and shots. Dress up as your favorite character to compete in the cosplay contest to win great prizes.


Late Night First Friday

Jerry’s Bar

A new month means fresh deals. On the first Friday of every month, Jerry’s Bar hosts a late night art exhibit and they’re back better than ever.  This one-of-a-kind artwork will lay throughout the restaurant showcasing artists that specialize in a variety of work, including painters, jewelers, photographers, and more. There will also be drink and food specials.


Reception for the 2018 Season

Eastern State Penitentiary

The Eastern State Penitentiary is hosting a series of exhibits for its ongoing program. Here, you will preview new artist installations and meet the artists personally. Light refreshments will be provided for guests. This will have an after-hours reception that is open and free to everyone.

Old City First Friday

Pinot Boutique

This open wine tasting will be from 6 to 10 pm in celebration of First Friday. Sample five basic wines, five sweet wines or five premium wines. After the tastings, there will be specials all night long.


Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival

Red and Willow Grove Avenues

This annual festival is back with as many as 30 thousand garden enthusiasts who come out and explore plants, crafts, and art. There will be over 150 vendors that have an assortment of flowers, vegetation, plants, and other handmade items, including art, quilts, furniture, and other collectibles. There will also be music, face painting, amusement rides, and other activities. This event is all weekend.


Saturday, 5.5

South Street Spring Festival

South Street

Everyone loves a good block party. This festival will span over 12 blocks of South Street to feature over 30 restaurants and bars and over 125 vendors to provide an awesome shopping and festival experience for all to enjoy the spring weather. There will be dozens of bands in multiple areas along the festival as well.


Philadelphia’s Kentucky Derby Party

Pagano’s Market and Bar

It’s time to break out the elaborate hats and fancy sun dresses. Philaderby is back for all to enjoy the best of Louisville’s high society racing spectacle in the heart of Philly. Dress to impress and be ready to participate in games and prizes. There will also be a special drink list. This event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Master Ballet Class 

Pennsylvania Ballet

The School of Pennsylvania Ballet will provide a free master adult dance class. This class will be taught by Angel Corella, the renowned Artistic Director for the school. You will be able to learn about him, his passions, and his techniques used for the Pennsylvania Ballet. This event is from 12:30 to 2 pm.


Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl

No better way to kick off the month of May than with a pub crawl. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with margaritas and tacos for the third year in a row.

Northeast Philly Food Truck Festival

All your favorite Center City food trucks are making their way to the Northeast. Here, some of Philadelphia’s Best Food Trucks will boast their favorite foods, games, brews, and cocktails. This festival is from 11 am to 6 pm.


Philly Wrap-Up Party Auction

Blick Art Materials

This auction is in celebration of the end of the first year of Art Wars in Philadelphia. Come and check out local artists and their artwork that made it through all three rounds of the contest. Light refreshments, raffle giveaways, and hands-on demos will be provided.


Jersey Shore Trivia

Your favorite reality cast is back, therefore, its only right to host a trivia night in Philadelphia in honor of them. Of course, you can’t have Jersey Shore Trivia without bottomless mimosas and bloodies. Trivia starts at noon with a DJ between every round.


Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival

This is the first weekend to enjoy this festival, which takes place through the end of June. This festival will have 28 new lanterns, all of which are inspired by the Chinese culture. There will be new lighting and displays that will take your breath away. Chinese acrobats, Chinese folk artists, a beer garden, and much more will have you diving into a new and wonderful cultural experience.
