Friday 7.13

Cinema in the Cemetary

Laurel Hill Cemetery

I guess Friday scaries are now a thing? Watch the ’90s cult classic The Craft while eating fried ice cream, and hangin’ with rescue cats and witchy vendors from 8 to 10 pm.

$1 Crabfries Day

Chickie’s & Pete’s

Get ready to stuff your face with $1 fries and $5 pitchers of beer from 11 am to midnight. All proceeds will go to the Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.

Midnight Madness Movie

Ritz 5

It’s BACK! Tommy Wiseau’s The Room is playing at midnight, so take a shot of Redbull and come ready to stay up late.

Emo Night Brooklyn

The Fillmore

Calling all emo/pop-punks for a throwback night to all of your favorite OG bands Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, Yellowcard, Paramore, and The Wonder Years. Party starts at 9:30 pm.

Taffy Pulling Party

Shane Confectionary

If you’re a fan of doing things the old school way, butter up yo hands and participate in an old-fashioned taffy pull. You will eat and create your own taffy simultaneously, which is a win/win for us. Event runs 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

Saturday 7.14

Bastille Day

Eastern State Penitentiary

We mentioned this in our summer festival guide but in case you forgot, here it is again. It’s the FINAL Bastille Day, like forever forever, so come and watch the farewell performance by the Bearded Ladies who will be performing a drag cabaret reenactment of the French Revolution, while performing their infamous line “Let them eat Tastykake!” Show runs 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

African Dance Bootcamp

Performance Garage

If you’ve been wanting to spice up your dance moves, this workshop has some West African Afro tribal GBEGBE moves to show off to your friends. All skill levels are welcome, and the workshop lasts 2:30 to 5 pm.

Drake Night

The Fillmore

Feeling Fake Love lately? One Dance is all you need to get yourself the Best You Ever Had. All Drake music, midnight to 2 am.

Mid-Day Movie

PFS Roxy Theater

At 2 pm this Saturday there will be a screening of the newest Zombie film The Night Eats The World, so if you want to get your week’s worth of scaries out of the way, this is definitely the place to be.

All Love Block Party

1700 Germantown Ave

This North Philly block party will be commemorating a graffiti wall that will be torn down for neighborhood expansion as well as raising money for Puerto Rico. From 10 am to 8 pm there will be food trucks and live performances by multiple DJs.

Concert Night

Union Transfer

If you can’t afford a $200 nosebleed seat to see Taylor Swift tonight (who wants to see her anyway!) check out Snail Mail, an eighteen-year-old artist who has already toured the country and put out her own album. Doors open at 7:30 pm.

Sunday 7.15

The Deck

Craving some barre, mimosas, and (15% off) brunch? Head over to this outdoor event from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Philly Farm Crew

The Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden

Need some volunteer hours or want to reverse some bad karma? This volunteering event focuses on community building and support for farmers in urban farm work. Go get your hands dirty and learn a thing or two about gardening, all the while helping Philadelphia communities.

Boozy Brunch: Trivia Edition

Tavern on Broad
Free with reservation

$15 bottomless mimosas, Harry Potter trivia, and oh yeah BRUNCH. Feel free to dress the part. We definitely will.

FIFA World Cup Blockparty

Brauhaus Schmitz

The 700 block of South Street will be closed for the FIFA World Cup Finals viewing party. Starting at 10 am, the game will be projected onto a 20-foot elevated screen, and there will be beer gardens and food vendors (and knowing Philly sports fans, so much more).

???? “DAY OF CHAMPIONS” ALERT!!! ???? Tell your friends. Tell your neighbors. Tell your family. Tell everyone in the city of Brotherly Love to meet you on the 700 block of South Street this Sunday for our World Cup Summer Block Party from 10am-5pm. Not only will we air the live 11am @fifaworldcup match but we want to dedicate the entire day to all champions, especially our BIRDS. WAIT FOR IT… WAIT FOR IT… WE WILL ALSO BE SHOWING THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES SUPER BOWL GAME!!! Since Germany won’t be taking home the Cup this year, why not relive the most glorious day of 2018 on a 20 Foot Projector Screen TV that was already rented for the day?!?!? Stick around for a full “Sunday Funday" with plenty of beer, food vending, summer games and some Super Bowl 52 champion feels. #dayofchampions #worldcup #wedontcarewhowins #noonelikesuswedontcare #superbowlchampions #superbowl #philadelphiaeagles #eagles #gobird #summer #blockparty #sundayfunday ????????????☀️????
