Philadelphia is an underrated hotbed for art, science, and culture. Home to an array of venues, museums and institutions, there’s really no good excuse to be bored in this city.

Feed Your Curiosity is a weekly roundup of events in Philadelphia that will broaden your horizons, tantalize your mind, and hopefully sophisticate you into something more than the heathen that you are. Here’s what’s going on this week.


Monday, 4.2

Fooled You! An Exploration of Shakespeare’s Fools

Revolution Shakespeare


This event features a stand-up comedy performance all about the fools in Shakespeare’s works. General admission comes with themed snacks and drinks. It starts at 6:30 pm.


Tuesday, 4.3

Philly Rising Open Mic

World Cafe Live 


Come out and support local performers. From musicians to comedians, this open mic night features a variety of acts from the nearby area. It starts at 6 pm.


Wednesday, 4.4

Philly All-Pro Comedy Showcase

Punch Line Philly


This stand-up show features Philadelphia’s finest comics, such as Shane Gillis and Miguel Dalmau. It starts at 8 pm.


Thursday, 4.5

Expedition to the End of the Earth

Wagner Free Institute of Science


This a free lecture focused on the findings from a 2016 Antarctic fossil expedition. A member of the expedition will retell her adventures while fossil-searching and the research following the trip. It lasts from 6 to 7:30 pm.


Friday, 4.6

Sound + Vision: Exploring Music through Glass Art

National Liberty Museum 


This event kicks off “Sound + Vision,” a show exploring the connection between music and glass art. The featured artists will be attending along with professors that have researched this area. It starts at 6 pm.


“Winged Woman” Artist Receptions

Painted Bride Art Center


This event features a panel of woman artists that were recently held exhibits at this gallery. Come learn about their artistic processes, lives and other interesting narratives. It lasts from 5 to 7 pm.


Saturday, 4.7

Rockin’ Docs for Diabetes Cure

World Cafe Live


This annual benefit concert has raised over 320,000 dollars in the past seven years for type 1 diabetes research!.Come out and support the cause while enjoying live music. It starts at 7:30 pm.


In the Artist’s Voice: Jean Shin

Philadelphia Museum of Art


This event features a conversation with an artist currently on exhibit at the PMA. The ticket price includes admission. It lasts from 2 to 3 pm.


Sunday, 4.8

’90s Craft Bazaar

Tattooed Mom 


Local vendors will be selling a wide array of handmade goods inspired by the ’90s. It lasts from 1 to 5 pm.


Improv Comedy: Long Story Short

Philly Improv Theater


A group of improvisers are going to create hilarious scenes inspired by true stories from the audience. Come out and support these shenanigans this Sunday at 7 pm.
