Feed Your Curiosity is a weekly roundup of events in Philadelphia that will broaden your horizons, tantalize your mind, and hopefully sophisticate you into something more than the heathen that you are. Here’s what’s going on this week.


Monday, 5.14

Twenty One: Uptown Improv with Downtown Style

Plays & Players


In honor of the 1812 production company’s 21st birthday, this live theater venue will be featuring a night of improv. It starts at 8 pm and lasts until 9:15 pm.


Love Your Park Week 

Fairmount Park Conservancy


Love Your Park Week in Philadelphia is hosting a park-wide clean-up of Fairmount Park. It starts at 9 am and lasts until 5 pm. Be sure to fill out the volunteer registration if interested.


Tuesday, 5.15

History after Hours: Power of the Press

Museum of the American Revolution


This event is exploring the history of how the press has influenced politics since the start of the nation. It lasts from 5 to 8 pm.


4th Annual Philly Loves PAWS Day

PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society)


Businesses and animal-lovers join together to fundraise for this lifesaving organization. It starts at noon.


Wednesday, 5.16

Stellar Mass III: Earth

Fels Planetarium


This interdisciplinary live show features a mix of writers, musicians, and filmmakers putting on an amazing performance. It lasts from 6 to 8 pm.


Thursday, 5.17

Classic Noir: Farewell, My Lovely

South Street Cinema 


South Street Cinema is screening this 1975 neo-noir classic in honor of its Classic Noir special. It lasts from 7 to 9 pm.


A Taste of History Live

City Tavern


Chef Walter Staib is hosting a meal filled with 18th Century classics to transport you back in time. It starts at 6 pm.


Friday, 5.18

Retro Friday: The Big Sleep

South Street Cinema


For Retro Friday, this movie theater is screening a 1946 classic with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. It starts at 8 pm.


Spring Wine Exploration

Alchemist Society


This beginner’s group is teaching everyone about wine tasting. Bring a date, or a friend, and come culture yourself on the art of wine. It lasts from 7 to 9 pm.


Saturday, 5.19

Mr. Philly Drag King 2018

William Way LGBT Community Center 

$15 to $30

This annual competition will be the best one yet. Come out and see who will be the next amateur drag king of Philly. It starts at 8 pm.


Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival 

Rittenhouse Square


This annual festival kicks off the start of the nice weather with hundreds of vendors selling anything from food to clothing. It lasts from noon to 5 pm.


Sunday, 5.20

Big Gay Boat Party Launch

The Deck


Come out and party with Philly’s LGBT community on the Moshulu. The party last from 5 to 10 pm.


Italian Market Festival

Italian Market


This annual festival features local business owners displaying their finest concoctions from grilled mangoes to authentic Italian cuisine. It starts at 11 am.

NBC10 previewing a taste of the Annual Italian Market Festival coming up May 19th &.20th. All homemade foods from Italian Sausage to Meatballs to Arancini. Bacon dipped in chocolate and Gelato waffles as well as our Mexican restaurant Blue Corn with everybody’s favorite pineapple drink and delicious tacos. Of course you’ll need something to drink so Perone Italian beer and lemon cello to compliment the food and then it’s time for desert so Isgro’s brought a scrumptious display of their “Non-Fattening” pastries!!
