Friday 8.10

Stars and Smores

The Schuylkill Center


From 8 to 10 pm learn how to stargaze while roasting marshmallows. It’s kind of a perfect night out.


Outdoor Movie Night

Clark Park


Time travel back to the ’80s for the cult classic Back to the Future. Starting at 7 pm there will be a pop-up photo booth, dancing, and food trucks. Event is BYOB (blanket).


Weeding Out The Stoned – The Game Show Of Sobriety Tests

Good Good Comedy Theatre


Can you guess who is sober? Sixteen comedians, and all but one is stoned. Guess right and win prizes. Show runs rom 8:30 to 10 pm.


Live Music & Booze

The Twisted Tail


Little Red Rooster Blues Band will be playing at The Twisted Tail, so if you want to spice up your night out at the bar, come see a show while drowning your weekday work sorrows. Show starts at 8 pm.


Pictures in the Park

Dilworth Park

This week, Ready Player One is playing in Dilworth Park at 8:30 pm. Make sure to get there early though because the first 100 people get free popcorn. Also, don’t forget to bring your own blanket!


Karaoke Night

O’ Neil’s Pub

Challenge your friends to a sing (scream) off and see who can belt out the best notes. Karaoke starts at 10 pm.


Saturday 8.11

Queer Vegan Pop Flea Market

Repair the World: Philadelphia


Come out noon to 4 pm and support these vendors! This event celebrates businesses that are vegan and LGBTQIA+ and includes a baking demo from 1 to 2 pm.


Second Saturday Sketch Day

Rodin Museum
Pay what you wish

Pretend to be Picasso, or find your inner artist. It can’t be that hard, right?


Sloppy Copy Festival

Fleisher Art Memorial


From noon to 5 pm this outdoor festival will celebrate local screen printers and artists, along with live music and food trucks.


Plant Giveaway

Thomas Paine Plaza


If you’re a plant mom or dad looking for more babies, get on down to Thomas Paine Plaza at noon where the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s (PHS) Farm for the City will be hosting a plant giveaway. This is a first come, first serve basis.


DJ Night

The Raven Lounge


Calling all indie/alt rock music fans. DJ Reed Streets will be throwing down an epic dance party from 10 pm to 2 am.


Sunday 8.12

Yoga Unplugged

JTown Hot Yoga

Stretch away the Sunday scaries with acoustic guitar tunes from 5:30 to 6:45 pm.


48 Project Film Screening

International House Philadelphia

Two groups had 48 hours to each write, shoot, and edit a film. From 1 to 3 pm and 3 to 5 pm there will be two viewing sessions to watch each of these two films.

104.5 Summer Block Party

Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing

Cold War Kids is headlining this month’s summer block party concert, along with Bishop Briggs, Robert DeLong, Alice Merton, and Deadfellow. Doors open at 1 pm and the music goes all day.
