Philadelphia Farmers Market Guide by Day of the Week

A meal can only be as good as the ingredients it is made with, and there are no better or fresher ingredients than those found at Philadelphia farmers markets.

If you think that there are no farmers markets in Philadelphia, you’re dead wrong. The Philadelphia farmers market scene is actually huge, and there’s a ton of variety.

There’s good news, too. Farmers markets aren’t just isolated to a few particular areas in Philadelphia. They’re spread all over Philly and happen all throughout the week. To find one that fits your schedule and is close to your home, check out this comprehensive list of farmers markets in Philadelphia.

Tuesdays

4th and Lehigh

Dates: Every Tuesday through November

Time: 12 pm to 4 pm

Where: 4th Street & West Lehigh Ave

This open-air farmers market has been running in Philadelphia since 2012 and offers fresh produce, cooking demonstrations, healthy living tips, and more.

Broad and Snyder

Dates: Every Tuesday through October

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: Broad Street & Snyder Avenue

Right next to the Broad Street Subway Station, this market is the perfect spot to pick up some ingredients for dinner on your way home, many provided by Solly Bros Farm.

Rittenhouse Square

Dates: Every Tuesday Year-Round

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: 18th & Walnut Street

As one of the largest open-air farmers markets in Philadelphia, the Rittenhouse Square market offers fresh food from over 30 vendors, including veggies from Rineer Family Farm, meats from Pequea Valley, and fruits from Hands on Earth Orchards.

Frankford Transportation Center

Dates: Every Tuesday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: Bustleton & FrankfordaAvenues

For those commuting through the Frankford Transportation Center, this is an ideal farmers market to grab some healthy greens, provided by Root Mass Farm.

West Oak Lane

Dates: Every Tuesday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: Ogontz Avenue & Walnut Lane

This popular farmers market was opened by the West Oak Lane neighborhood in partnership with Ogontz Avenue Revitilization Corporation. Seasoned farmers market experts head here every Tuesday to pick up some natural goods, many provided by Sunny Slope Orchards.

Park and Tabor

Dates: Every Tuesday through October

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: North Park Avenue & West Tabor Road

If you are looking for a healthy host of dinner and ingredient options, the Park and Tabor Farmers Market has plenty of local produce for the Logan community and people all throughout Philadelphia.

Wednesday

26th and Allegheny

Dates: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 1 pm to 5 pm

Where: 26th & Allegheny streets

This farmers market is more of an experience with food from the McCann Farm, giveaways, and activities from 1 pm to 3 pm. Free meals will be given to children under 18 until August 23, as well.

22nd and Tasker

Dates: Every Wednesday through October

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where:  22nd & Tasker streets

Located in front of the Diversified Community Services’ Mamie Nichols Center, this beautiful market will have all sorts of fresh produce for your enjoyment.

University Square

Dates: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 10 am to 5 pm

Where: 36th and Walnut Streets in front of the Penn Bookstore

This farmers market has all sorts of fruits and veggies, but it is also an excellent fit for people with a sweet tooth. Baked goods are supplied by Big Sky Bakery and chocolates by John and Kira’s Chocolates.

52nd and Haverford

Dates: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 12 pm to 4 pm

Where: Haverford Avenue & North 52nd Street

Located in the Haddington Neighborhood of Philadelphia, this market is typically frequented by locals looking for affordable greens from Lone Wolfe Farm and Mill Creek Farm.

33rd and Diamond

Date: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: 33rd & Diamond streets

In a mission to unite the East Park community, this market consistently has a large amount of produce offered from PHS City Harvest Gardens, the East Park Revatilization Alliance gardens, and local farms throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

58th and Chester

Dates: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: 58th Street & Chester Avenue

Juicy summer fruits from Fruitwood Orchards are the highlight of this market, but produce is also be available. The Lankenau Medical Center will be there, offering a free health screening on August 24.

Schuylkill River Park

Dates: Every Wednesday through October

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: 25th & Spruce streets

As you are running through the Schuylkill River Trail, stop for a healthy treat or a browse through this market, with food from Highland Orchards.

The Fountain

Dates: Every Wednesday through November

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: 11th & Tasker Streets

With great prices and a gigantic spread with goods from Wayfare Baker, Primal Supply Meats, Fair Food, and many more, this market is very popular among South Philadelphia residents.

Christ Church

Dates: Every Wednesday through October

Time: 2 pm to 7 pm

Where: Church Street Between 2nd and 3rd

Bringing together Old City businesses and vendors, this market will have a wide variety of treats, such as produce from Beechwood Orchards, jam from Fifth of a Farm Creations, and icy Popsicles from Lil’ Pop Shop.

Thursday

Cecil B. Moore

Dates: Every Thursday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: Cecil B. Moore Avenue & Broad Street

This market is the spot for Temple students and residents of the Yorktown community looking for organic ingredients for their meals, from places like Mt. Pleasant Organics and Girard College Community Garden.

Mt. Airy

Dates: Every Thursday through August

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: Carpenter Lane at Greene Street

Fruits, veggies, herbs, and fresh honey from Sorbello Girls are some of the produce you will see at the Mt. Airy Farmers Market.

Fairmount

Dates: Every Thursday through October

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: 22nd Street and Fairmount Avenue

With a direct view of the Eastern State Penitentiary, this market is the spot for Fairmount residents to get produce from Beechwood Orchards, baked goods from Little Bird Bakery, and fruits from Urbanstead.

Oxford Circle

Dates: Every Thursday through November

Time: 2 pm to 6 pm

Where: 900 East Howell Street

Located in one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Philadelphia, this market provides fruits, veggies, and herbs for a number of residents in the Northeast Philadelphia area.

Powers Park

Dates: Every Thursday through November

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: Almond & East Ann Streets in Port Richmond

As the first farmers market in Port Richmond, this spot hosts a wide variety of vendors with incredible food, including fruits and veggies from Goose Lane Egg Farm, authentic Mexican food from Taste of Puebla, and so much more.

Clark Park

Dates: Every Thursday through November

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: 43rd Street & Baltimore Avenue

This is the Thursday mini-version of the Clark Park Farmers Market hosted every Saturday and promises different vendors and a great location for fresh ingredients.

Jefferson

Dates: Every Thursday through October

Time: 11 am to 3 pm

Where: 10th & Chestnut Streets

Enjoy browsing through many options of produce from McCann’s Farm, grab an ice cream cone from Bright Yellow Creamery’s stand, or pick up some flowers from Petal’s stand at this market.

Chester

Dates: August 24, September 14, September 28, October 12, October 26

Time: 11 am to 3 pm

Where: 9th & Trainer Streets

This market only pops up for a couple of days throughout the summer, however it is jam-packed with healthy foods, and cooking demonstrations.

Mayfair Night Market

Dates: August 17, September 7, September 21, October 5, October 19

Time: 5 pm to 9 pm

Where: 7300 Frankford Avenue

For those who only have time to shop at night, this market is catered specifically toward you. At the Mayfair Night Market in Northeast Philadelphia, there will be vendors selling food, beer, and crafts, along with live music to keep things upbeat and moving.

Friday

Julian Abele Park

Dates: Every Friday through October

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: 22nd Street between Montrose and Carpenter

Supported by the South of South Neighborhood Association (SOSNA), this market has a vast assortment of foods and drinks to choose from, including fresh eggs, homemade cheese, veggies, lemonade, mint tea, fruits, and more.

Gorgas Park

Dates: Every Friday through October

Time: 3 pm to 7 pm

Where: Ridge Avenue & Acorn Street

With fruits and veggies from New Jersey and breads, including a gluten-free option, from J’s GourAmaze Fine Foods and Baked Goods in Philadelphia, this market promises delicious foods to stock your pantry.

Saturday

Clark Park

Dates: Every Saturday All Year

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: 43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue

This is one of the biggest markets in Philadelphia with a diverse host of vendors, from Shore Catch Seafood to the Cottage Kitchen and many more in between. Head here if you are looking for a farmers market with every ingredient imaginable.

Rittenhouse Square

Dates: Every Saturday All Year

Time: 9 am to 3 pm until the end of November and 10 am to 2 pm from December to the end of April

Where: 18th and Walnut Streets

As another one of the largest farmers markets in Philadelphia, Rittenhouse square provides a spot for over 25 local farmers and vendors to sell their delicious foods every week. Some of the vendors include Blue Mountain Vineyards, Shellbark Hollow Farm, and Good Spoon Soupery.

Overbrook

Dates: Every Saturday through October

Time: 9 am to 1 pm

Where: Lancaster and City Avenues

Located at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church, this is your classic farmers market with foods from Forest View Bakery, Walnut Springs Farm, and Homestead Gardens.

Fitler Square

Dates: Every Saturday All Year

Time: 9 am to 2 pm

Where: 23rd and Pine Streets

Open all year, this market is a great spot to stock up on fruits, cider, and veggies for the week.

Chestnut Hill

Dates: Every Saturday All Year

Time: 9 am to 1 pm to the end of November and 10 am to 12 pm from December to the end of April

Where: Winston Road and Germantown Avenue

This market is a hotspot for a range of vendors in the Germantown neighborhood. You can pick up sustainably raised meats from Taproot Farm, seasonal mushrooms from Primordia Farm, and a sorbetto from D’Emilio’s Old World Ice Treats all in one place.

Hunting Park

Dates: Every Saturday through November

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: Old York Road & West Hunting Park Avenue

Stop in at the Hunting Park farmers market selling canned foods, eggs, flowers, soaps, and more.

Pretzel Park

Dates: Every Saturday through mid-November

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: 4300 Silverwood Street

Take your dog to the dog park and shop for produce at the farmers market at Pretzel Park, with vendors from all over the Philadelphia area.

Liberty Lands

Dates: Every Saturday through October

Time: 9 am to 3 pm

Where: Liberty Lands 3rd Street Side

Browse the selection from over 15 vendors at this market, including Ninja Goat Fat Coffee, Lady Bug Designs, and Who Dog Knits.

Sunday

Dickinson Square

Where: Every Sunday through October

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: Moyamensing Avenue & Morris Street

Snack on seasonal treats from Wildflour Bakery, Darmo Family Farms, Valente’s Italian Specialties, and more at this market.

Headhouse

Dates: Every Sunday through December

Time: 10 am to 2 pm

Where: 2nd & Lombard Streets

Head out for a Sunday stroll at one of the larger farmers markets in Philly, located in the Society Hill neighborhood. With over 40 vendors, there are plenty of ingredients to choose from, such as preserves from Green Aisle Grocery, sausages from Griggstown Quail Farm, and savory tarts from Market Day Canele.
