I remember a few months ago I was having a conversation with a friend. This was about the time Joel Embiid was rolling through his rookie season and dunking on everyone. It went something like this:
“Does Joel Embiid have a commercial yet?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Oh. He should.”
Well The Process finally made it to the small screen, promoting Jolly Ranchers in a new commercial titled, “Being a Rookie Sucks.” It’s his first commercial ever, and hopefully, the first of many.
The commercial pokes fun at Embiid for his injuries—the meniscus tear that kept him sidelined after only playing 31 games this season, and the problematic foot that kept him off the floor the previous two seasons.
Watch it below:

Liberty Ballers also did a behind-the-scenes video about the commercial shoot, which apparently took place at Widener University. Embiid talked about his acting future, drinking 20 Shirley Temples, and eating 50 Jolly Ranchers.
Get well soon, Embiid.
